



This is my father. An engineer, inventor and developer of some very complex machinery and equipment for laboratory testing. Most of these memories are lost to him now as Alzheimer's takes the past from him a little at a time. There are good days, and not so good ones. This was one of the better ones. In all the years I've been photographing I can only recall making a handful of images of my parents. I've never been sure why. In the past, a photograph would last forever, or very nearly. Now however images are stored in memory, ephemeral and subject to the mercurial decay of technology.
